As a member of the Appointment Advisory Committee (BAC), you use the recruitment and selection portal (R&S portal) to assess applicants. As a BAC member, you are responsible for ensuring a well-considered and objective selection process. Therefore, it is important to familiarize yourself with the R&S guidelines and the Application Code of the Netherlands Association for Personnel Policy (NVP)before you actively participate in a BAC and are involved in the candidate selection.
View candidates
1. Go to the relevant vacancy and click ‘View’, or ‘Evaluate’ if there are already applicants.
2. Then click on ‘To assess’ to see the candidates who applied.
3. Use the ‘Next’ arrow to navigate to other candidates.
4. View CVs, motivation letters and other submitted documents through ‘More info’. Again, you can use the right arrow to browse through the candidates.
5. You can also choose a list view through ‘Candidates overview’.
Assess candidates
1. Give a number of start for each assessment criterion.
2. Then give an advice using one of the three buttons:
a. Green: invite for a first interview
b. Hand: on hold
c. Red X: reject
Good to know: Once saved, BAC members cannot edit their advice. Therefore, avoid marking candidates as ‘on hold’ in your advice if you intend to set their status to ‘invite’ or ‘reject’ at a later stage.
3. Add a brief explanation, if necessary.
4. Save your assessment by clicking ‘Submit’.
Invite or reject candidates
After saving your own assessment, you will see the assessments of other BAC members, if they have already been submitted. The vacancy holder then makes the final decision regarding invitation or rejection in the R&S portal.
Please note: Documents that you download or print during the recruitment procedure (e.g. CVs and motivation letters) must be deleted or physically destroyed after the end of the procedure in connection with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
